We knew Eagles lack penalty scoring skill – Ghanaian coach

Image
”We purposely stretched the match into penalty shootout because we knew that Nigeria did not know how to play penalty,” says Ghanian Coach, Maxwell Konadu. Konadu made the statement at a post match interview on Wednesday after Black Stars defeated Super Eagles 4-1 on penalty to qualify for the final of the third African Nations Championships (CHAN) in South Africa. Ghana will on Saturday at the final meet Libya which earlier defeated Zimbabwe 5-4 also on penalty shootout. The full and extra times had ended goalless. The two semi final matches were played on Wednesday at Free Town Stadium, Bloemfontein, South Africa. Konadu said that although the Eagles were better tactically, the team lacked penalty shootout scoring skill. According to him, the Eagles would have scored within the 90 minutes time of the match but his boys matched them one on one to stretch the match to the penalty shootout. The forcefully contested match was marred with several yellow cards and on...

Robin Hood’ Thief Stole £3 Million From Security Van – to give to the Needy in Africa

Image
A Robin Hood-style charity worker carried out Austria’s biggest-ever security van robbery and stole £3 million – to give it away. The former policeman plotted with two others to hold up the cash van at gunpoint because he wanted to give the money to the needy in Africa. The robber, who cannot be named under the country’s strict privacy laws, had set up his own security firm when he was forced to retire from the police after being shot on duty. But after working in Africa, he was affected by the poverty and starvation he saw at first hand. He planned the heist of the Loomis security van after discovering it was transporting money to fill Christmas time cash-machines in Vienna. The robber then persuaded a former female employee of the firm to join his plot after convincing her to help him “spread wealth around the world”, he later told police. Although they wore masks during the raid, one security firm worker told police she thought the woman caught on CCTV resembled a ...
