Twenty-five students and two teachers of Ogba Junior Grammar School in Ogba, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, were yesterday evening rushed to a hospital after they inhaled emission from a toxic chemical. It was gathered that the unconscious students and teachers were immediately rushed to Blue Cross Hospital, located opposite the shopping mall for urgent medical attention. A medical doctor at the hospital declined to comment on the condition of the students and teachers. Two of the affected female students whose condition was critical were transferred in a Lagos State Emergency Ambulance marked LA 156 A08 to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, in Ikeja. P.M.NEWS learnt that at about 12 noon, the students and teachers were in the school when they began to feel dizzy and collapsed after inhaling the emission from chemical spread to their school premises by air. The bombing occurred on the outskirts of Gamboru Ngala, site of a Monday Boko Haram attack that claimed the lives of over 300 village residents. At least 30 people were killed during the late Thursday afternoon bombing incident, sources tell SaharaReporters. The bridge links the immigration check points of both Cameroon and Nigeria. The bombing event took place on the same day of a mass burial in the town of Gamboru Ngala. It was there on Monday where a Boko Haram-led raid on the small village claimed the lives of over 300 residents, nearly ten per cent of the population. According to VANGUARD – Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has said he is interested in who succeeds him next year, towards advancing the cause of the state. When asked on who he prefers to succeed him, Fashola said: “I prefer a successor that would surpass my achievements in office and advance the cause of Lagos State.” The governor who said this during an interactive session with State House Correspondents, at the State House Marina, stressed that he was concerned about who would be the next governor of the state. Fashola, also added a caveat that he was not praying to be the best governor the state would ever produce but expected his successor to carry on the transformation agenda without further delay.
